Hello Seafood Fans!
Welcome to Mainely Lobster Rolls. As a kid running a paper route in Kittery, Maine in the early 80’s I would often find myself walking/exploring along the ocean’s edge behind the houses I delivered The Portsmouth Herald to (there were no trespassing calls made for the 11 year old paperboy – these were shortcuts!) Under the wharfs and docks were untold amounts of shells – Lobster, Scallop, Oyster, Clam, Mussel, etc. Additionally, there were other things that were quite interesting to an 11 year old boy, including Barnacles, Snails, Eels, Skates and Fish bodies!
Now, over 30+ years later, I am happy to be helping bring some of the Best of Maine (that I took for granted as a kid) to Northern Virginia.
My wife and I are both from coastal Maine. In fact, I am from the southernmost and oldest town in the state of Maine – Kittery. As such, we grew up around lobster, and the coastal Maine seafood realities and industries – eating lobsters/steamers/mussels/chowdah is just a part of who we are.
I spent many days in High School working in seafood restaurants and have maintained relationships with folks who are still involved in these great industries today. It is exciting to join the supply-chain in helping to bring some of the best of Maine to our area!
Mainely Lobster Rolls also brings to town famous Maine Whoopie Pies, Maine Sodas, Outstanding Maine Honeys, Jams (Blueberry, Seedless Blackberry, Red Raspberry) and top shelf Maine maple syrup, in addition to other famous seasonal Maine offerings. AND – OF course, Lobster Rolls!! With real deal New England split-top style buns – They are wicked good!
